The PT1000 is a platinum resistance temperature sensor (RTD) used to monitor the winding, bearing, or motor body temperature in electric motors. Its nominal resistance at 0°C is 1000 Ω. As the temperature increases, the sensor’s electrical resistance rises linearly and predictably, ensuring high measurement accuracy.
PT1000 sensors are widely used in motor protection, overheating prevention, and condition monitoring applications. They are suitable for connection to motor protection relays, frequency converters (VFDs), PLCs, and industrial control systems. Compared to PT100 sensors, they offer lower measurement error over long cable distances and better resistance to electrical noise. The typical operating temperature range is between -50°C and +200°C, depending on the sensor design.
